Hello,

I am going to upgrade my standard CMC ignition switch to a nice Bosch one. Can anyone explain the wiring of the new switch compared to the old? The old switch has labels like acc, +12v, etc.  The new switch has labels like the back of a relay.

This might help you out:  http://www.mikegabriel.net/vw/...k2/EE01/ch3.1.1.html

Pretty much, 30 goes to battery, 15 is ignition, and 50 goes to starter.

Anything else I missed is covered on the link I posted.

The second 30 is to feed power to the headlights or generator/alternator I think.

X goes to a load-reduction relay if there is a terminal for that, I'd use that for accessory, no power to it during start.
