I just got an old carb on a VW intake manifold, turns out it was used on very early fords, 30s and 40s, It says HOLLEY 2110, has an electric choke and a spot to hook up a manual, I'm gonna give it a try in my super. I tried contacting holley and they haven't responded as yet. The local carb shop was very vague and unsure. $100-$300 to rebuild, no garuantee it would work and didn't know if the rebuild parts were on hand or available. I think he didn't want the work. So if i can find a kit I'll give it a go myself!

A long time ago JC Whitney sold those, I think they were also called a Holley Bugspray. It is hard to find a rebuid kit, but they are still around. The only problem with them was if you had a plenum opening in the manifold (oval) it was too much carb. They had and isolated tube model(two openings)that worked much better. I think they worked better with a 3/4 cam. BTW, I have a Holley Bugspray with the isolated tube manifold and have considered using that instead of the dual Kadron setup that is now on the engine. I am still working on this 15+ yr old project that I got a couple months ago.
Yeah I've got the isolated tubes on the manifold, Its a pretty cool old rig. I'll do more research and see if i can find a kit. The kid that sold it to me rebuilt the engine on his bug when he was 10, still running(he's 16)! drives a 68 impala. Now that you mention it, he did call it a bugsprayer!
As you've found out, it's not from the 30's and 40's but more like the 70's and 80's.

It's not worth having it rebuilt and it sucked as a carburetor (pun intended)
Mileage was poor and it required a lot of jet work to make it work properly. I know as I installed on a new 1969 Karmann Ghia. After sorting it out for months, I got it work fairly decent but, it wasn't worth it.
