If any of you need Hood Straps (Deck Lid Straps) you may contact me directly or go to eBay and find my listing under HOOD STRAPS. They are made of top grade leather and include buckles, stainless steel end caps, bolts-nuts-washers all for only $85 and $7.50 shipping. I make them in Black and Tan.

Here's a dumb question - are these "meant" to be visual or can they be really functional?

Wasn't the history of these for race cars, in case they had mechanical latch failure at speed?

Back in the day, I remember seeing them on many original speedsters, but about the only speedsters I saw anywhere back then were always at Watkins Glen or Mosport on the track, hence, my question.
