I am trying to trace down my horn problem. The horn is good, but I cannot get the button to blow the horn. I have replaced the turn signal switch and it still does not sound. I think there may be a relay under the dashboard but cannot locate a part number to replace it and not sure how to test it. Any help would be appreciated.

With a CMC there may or may not be a relay involved.....    Does your horn have one or two wires connected ???    If one, its waiting for an applied voltage....  If two, one wire may be continually "hot", with the key on....  The other wire is used to ground the horn thru the button.....   Or a two wire may be wired as a one wire system, however the ground wire is usually chasis grounded close by....

My CMC arrived without the horn being wired in at all.....Horn there wires attached at the horn with the other ends dangling under the dash...

Hope this helps...

Thanks for the information. It is a good place to start. I did locate a relay on the firewall and it has one lead to the positive on the fuse and a second wire going to the horn ring in the steering column. There are two other brown wires that have been clipped out of the horn ring leading to nothing. The horn itself has one terminal on it and when tested on the positive side by running a lead directly from the positive on the battery to the terminal it sounds the horn.

Going to try to locate what is out there for a relay and also try to find out how to test it.

Thank you.
