I will also update you shortly after seeing what other complaints JPC has. I have pretty much given up and chalk it up to a very bad decision and I am living with all the issues. I will comment later after seeing what issue came up

I don’t understand, but I’m the slow kid.

Is there a reason to wait until the other guy brings his complaints to light? Is there a reason that 2 days have passed since he told us his story would be continued, but it hasn’t been?

If you have a legitimate beef, it seems like it would be a lot more productive to outline what that beef is, rather than to say, “I have a beef. More later”.

Just a suggestion.

No hand built car has no issues when first built.  It needs proper set up and break in period.  Buying used may or may not get you a sorted out car.. just saying

Now there are better builders but they cannot always control their parts suppliers quality control issues. Welcome to reality on this side.

Putting out $33k (plus tax and possibly shipping) and waiting for a car to be built to my specs - I would have high expections.  If the car didn't meet those expectations I would be embarrashed to admit I had made a mistake (or got bamboozaled by a fast talker with hollow promises).

Other than you end up settling on colors - a used car that you can actually drive maybe a better option - especially if sorted by someone knowledgeable.

I'm with Stan on this. You have something to say, say it. The vast majority of us don't have a dog in this fight you and JPC are "almost" picking. There are only a few reasons to post this stuff. One would be to warn others away from the builder, two would be to besmirch the reputation of a builder out of a desire for revenge, third would be to shame said builder into action, thereby getting them to fix your car, fourth is "Heck, I've got nothin' else to do, think I'll stir something up". I'd venture that the first and third have merit.

JPC seems to have run away from his  thread having posted on another thread about his frunk handle.

I don't get this claiming injury and then witholding an explanation as to what happened. You don't have any credibility if all you do is toss out innuendo and suggest, but not define, a/the problem(s).

Scarcely fair to Vintage. They may be screwing up but right now they hold the high ground.

Frankly, put up or shut up.

Remember studing the "Gartner hype cycle chart" in college.  It can apply to Speedster ownership - especially when having a new one built.  Both owners are at or near the trough of disillusionment.  This is where they sell (and lose $) or start knocking off items on the issue list and becoming enlightened!

I have so many things to do/re-do on mine that I'm stuck in the San Andreus Trench of the trough of disillusionment.  Peak of Expectations was the CMC advertsing that said you'd be driving the new Speedster in only 40 hours.

I think it's finally safe to say that after two years of ownership I've now reached the Plateau of Productivity  with the car that Kirk built for me back in 2016. . . and I have every intention to keep her.

While the 'sorting out' phase of new car ownership did prove to be a bit longer and more expensive than had been anticipated (along with a few extra WTF expletives thrown in for good measure) she is now loads of fun to drive and own.

Pics below were taken 9 days ago while traveling through Lincoln County, NC.  In the bottom photo the historical road marker seen behind the old guy standing in front of it tells about a great, great, great grandfather on my mother's side of our family.  https://www.ncpedia.org/biography/loretz-andrew
