Dang, missed my Wednesday night car show. For some reason I checked my headlights before driving away and - no headlights, no tail lights, no brake lights.

Turn signals work fine. I have my own wiring diagrams from years ago. Seems most likely a fuse, the light relay or maybe the light switch itself. Unfortunately, my back is so bad I can't crawl under the dash to even reach the fuse panel anymore. So it's off to my VW dune buggy guru tomorrow.

It's good to have a guru!

Will,

Yeah, back in San Diego. When it starts to rain in Oregon I leave. Got to San Diego and it rained here for a whole week - WTF?

The Cars and Coffee thing apparantly got going again sometime in late summer. According to my source, it's held the 2nd Sunday each month. My first visit will be in November. I'll try and post something here a few days before.

The location has been moved to Jim Bittle's new digs (JBA Performence Center) in Kearny Mesa at 5675 Kearny Villa Road - near the Fun Bike Center.

Ya gotta love Jim, I remember him in the 80s when he had a store the size of a one car garage, selling Ford Motorsports parts. Now he's got several manufacturing facilities, and selling his own brand headers (JBA) and tons of chassis parts, doing dyno work and catering to all american muscle and pony cars. And he vintage races a Mustang! IT ALL HAS TO DO WITH YOUR LEVEL OF ENTHUSIASM!
Well my guru (Dave Forbis - Buggyworks) came thru again. My "lights out" scenario was caused by blowing the 30 amp fuse that is located on top of the light switch, behind the dashboard. Never was sure why someone would put a fuse there instead of at the main fuse block, but alls well now.

Threw in a minor tuneup and I'm of like a terd of hurtles - or something like that!
