If you do an Ebay search on "porsche badge" you'll also wind up with a lot of badges that are simply town, rally, or ADAC club events that have nothing to do with Porsches.

And, a lot of the new Porsche badges that show up on Ebay can be bought for a lot less through normal channels, so caveat emptor.

Once in a while an entrant Monte Carlo Rally for a particular year shows up but they are expensive.

GB, did you even look at the badges I referrenced on eBay before you startin' runnin' your mouth/keyboard? Jeeeezzz! (Although since Rick acurately likened you to Cliff Klaven of Cheers fame, you are a lot more pallatable.)

Sometimes eBay is cheaper, sometimes it's not... depends on the interest, an item's rarity, etc.

I happen to check Porsche accessories pretty often and under that umbrella a bunch of badges show up from time to time. In this instance some with a starting price of a dollar, others as high as fifty bucks.

Check out some badge dealer's sites and you'll see that these prices aren't too bad, and by the way, the dude was pointing out they were originals, so that's cool.

Check these prices for examples of quality badges and you'll see they aren't a lot different than the badges the dude on eBay has,
OK 'Cliff'?

Oh, and as a postscript, where the Hell do you get off advising folks about spending money on their cars? From what I gather, you've exceeded the normal bounds of sanity with this monument you've commissioned.
Jeeezzz! I think you need the meds.

Pauli,

Also check the German ebay site for nice badges. I bought several from overseas, the sellers always can communicate in English and are a pleasure to deal with.

At one point I had accumulated 20+ badges, yikes. I sold most off so am now down to my hall of fame three and have stopped buying, but I do enjoy looking. I agree, if you like the badge or the scene depicted, go for it.
