Not sure this is strictly technical, but it involves numbers, so...

Can anyone tell me the width of the opening under the engine grill? Doesn't have to be to the tenth of the inch, and rounding down is preferred to rounding up. I want to put an LED strip inside as a hidden third brake light in the hopes of fiberglass preservation.

I used a 6.5” Red LED strip.. fit perfectly under the grill, between the rack post. Used 3M two sided auto molding mounting tape to hold it in place. I removed the aluminum case around the lights.

souce of 3rd light strip.. ebay--- 6$ ( now 9$) for two COB chip red LED light strips. ( only one is installed in the car.) I replaced the 5050 LED strip. (It was about half as bright at the COB...
