Well, my mechanic has one week to do the drivetrain swap and I don't know if I have time to refinish the existing tins in those few days. I suppose I could remove them and do the work over the next two weekends that I have before the engine comes in. I would only HAVE to drive the car 4-5 miles without the full tins in... My preference is to just get my engine builder to finish out a full set of VW tins knowing they will fit with little modification. Thanks for the advice!
