Tom,

I am working through my list, and have put a few things out in other threads. Will assemble a list of all for the world to see shortly. [Note: you owe us all the same thing: a list of what all made you send it back. Curious minds need -- no DEMAND -- to know.] I am up to ~1600 mi, so enjoying the ride a bit. Weather lately on the right coast has been truly AWESOME.

JPS engine builer is GEMVW, BTW. John may do some fiddle-diddle when he gets the engines in his shop, but a couple of packages of replacement parts have come direct from GEMVW. Go to their website, and you will see the specs for your engine as one of their offerings.

Also, I have the same 2332 engine, but w/ "stock" doghouse and cooler intalled, and the engine has never overheated. Runs kinda around the "straight-up" position on the gauge.
Hey Jim,

Just because I live near PHILLY - doesn't make eagle green my color (even if my car is green) -NOT an Eagle fan, dislike the giants (sorry Howard), hate the cowboys - love the steelers!

But once every 25 years or so (well 14 this time) the Phils make it to the playoffs. Noy a huge baseball fan, but gotta love 'em when you get the chance. In Philly all teams break your heart!
Cory, I'll second that emotion. Tom has been a very brave soul through all of this. And not without some serious heartache. As I understand it, not only were things fixed, but some "improvements" affected. Tom has spared us many of the details, and recent tribulations w/ JPS (not all very pretty) and now the Second Coming, so to speak, is eminent. I have called for another proper christening, or whatever, up Tom's way as soon as it can be managed. With all of the various happenings, and other travel plans, that looks to be around about 10/27. Who all would want to be included in a thorough re-inspection of the Green Coupe and a ride-around in the PA-DE countryside? Pls advise.
Kelly,

You might be right on John's engine builder, I googled it and they are located in Temecula, and he said that his engine builder is in Temecula

Tom,

Sorry I was not able to give you any update while your car is at JPS because the last 2 Saturdays, my coupe was at the paint shop for final buffing and touch up, so I did not go visit John. I will go there this Saturday as my coupe is supposed to be back for final adjustment and test drive, I hope your green coupe is already on the truck going back to you. Keep us posted once you get the Green Hornet back.
Eddy -

Green Hornet is scheduled to leave "first of the week". So take a look at her if you can on Saturday. Seems like John has learned a lot from your car as well and some of it went into my car as improvements - at least that's John's story. He's adding some gauges and a louvered deck lid to the car. If you can, get a pic of that lid.

Hope my insights into my issues were of some assitance in your build as well.
Seems like John and I have worked most of our issues out as long as the car comes back truly improved as I believe it will.

Thanks.

Hey Tom,

I went to visit JPS and saw your car there and it looks good, he fixed the hole/crack due to the nerf bar, and you can't see it anymore. He put a breather kit and he said that he put some more sound insulation to the back, changed the back side window to tempered glass, The engine looks quite clean, I believe his engine builder worked on your engine to fix whatever oil problem you had. I saw your louvered engine lid, but it is not painted yet. He said he is sending your car back tomorrow and will send the deck lid separately. I attached the picture of the oil breather and the louvered deck lid

UPDATE:

A week late, but the green hornet is on it's way back to Pa. Left at 1:30pm Pacific time. Will wait and see, but it seems like all my issues have been addressed and an few improvements as well including more sound proofing to quiet the car down. Oil seal replaced and oil breather added.

Have to give JPS credit. John did not have to do all he did. Could easily have arranged for someone local to do the oil issue and left many of my more minor issues hang. He didn't. Better QC up front would ahve been preferred, but in the end I think he did the right thing by me.

There is no doubt in my mind that he does want to build a great car and to make the owner's happy.
There is no doubt that this site and the feature in KCB contributed to JPS going as far as they have. If roles were reversed - I know I would have been motivated to do things right.

Thanks to all for the concern and interest. Stay tuned for the arrival and results. (Assuming you are not all bored to tears by this never-ending story.)

Even this thread is getting long so look for a new one when the green car arrives.
