I'm not surprised he's unloading it at only 2,000 miles. This car is not sorted, not well assembled, and probably not all that pleasant a place to spend time.  Look closely at the photos: Wipers don't park correctly, door window frames akimbo and not sealing to the weather stripping (and whistling in your ear all the time), weather stripping of the rear quarter window not correctly installed and not sealing the window (and probably rattling over bumps), crappy oversized shifter boots and handbrake cover, cheap chrome on wheels flaking off already (and probably 4 bolt wheels), exhaust tip already rusting, rubber under door handles (and frankly everywhere) all cockeyed, panel gaps all over the place (is the driver's door slightly bowed?), and the frunk lid isn't flush, and the paint is in crap condition.  In the engine bay heater tubing is kinked around the ac compressor, that's weird way to run the breather tubing, and look at where the carb return spring is attached!  This was not assembled by someone that cares much and every visible corner was cut.  Makes you wonder how the things you can't see were done.

This could be nice buy for someone able and willing to do a full sorting and fettling themselves.  It'll undoubtedly go for enough that bringing it to Greg or Carey to fix will wind up costing more than having them build a nicer one from scratch.  If it's bought by someone like the last two owners, look for it on BAT again in the fall.

Nice summary. That almost should be shared in the peanut gallery, but would likely hurt the seller.  I think it is still possibly worth about half of the stunning pre-a coupes out of Vintage, but priced the way I would want it comes in at 66K plus tax.  One of those with a sliding sunroof would be the holy grail but I don't think it is possible without blending steel and fiberglass, which would degrade over time.

And is it me or is the glove box about to fall out the bottom?

JPS website advertises $41,950 for a new coupe with delivery “promised” in 12 months; although everything I’ve read here indicates that is WELL short of actual delivery time.  

And if the price of a 2 year old JPS coupe ends up being +-25% less than a new one, why would anyone pony up the funds?

If this 2 year old 2,000 mile coupe sells for under $30k you could end up with +-$10k to get it right and comparable in price to a new build (if you’re able to fix the needs that need fixing)...and it can be driven while you sort it out.

I think the base JPS coupe is $3K more than the speedster,but more rare. The only JPS comp on bat is a speedster that sold for $31,762.50  (things often go high on BAT because it becomes a popularity contest and people forget the fee, but in this case the winner was someone who was the high bidder at over $2 million for a BMW 507) https://bringatrailer.com/list...porsche-speedster-3/  So perhaps it will end up at 33K RNM

I always thought that was funny.  Although, I have a few friends who have gone vegan and they claim they feel better.

We're certainly not vegans, but have discovered, later in life, a number of food allergies like Beef, cow's milk and Dairy cheese (virtually, anything from a cow is Taboo for us), some shellfish, several pollens (found in honey) and so on.  Meh.  Once you figure out what reacts poorly with your body chemistry it's relatively easy to avoid it by finding replacements.  A little bit of experimentation let's you widen or narrow your choices or shift to something else.  Like making "Coquitos" at Christmas instead of Egg Nog or making cream sauces with coconut milk - different but tasty.

We can't eat Beef.  No big deal.  For a red meat we eat Bison (related to the Yak and water buffalo).  I use Agave for a sweetener if needed.  We've discovered the world of goat and sheep cheese - Virtually anything you can find in Cow-cheese you can find a goat or sheep equivalent.

We eat a lot of veggies and grains, but it's more like being on the "Mediterranean Diet" that lots of others are on.  I'm using it to manage acute allergies I've had for years.  It works.

BTW, almost all of the driver's we've spotted for at the Rolex are now Vegans.  It started with Andy Lally (multi-time winner of the Rolex 24 and LeMans AND world champion Street Luge racer) and has been picked up by Spencer Pumpelly, Wolf Henzler and quite a few other names in the GT/DP/F1 racing world.  They're winning, so they're doing something right!

Andy Lally also holds the World speed record for Street Luge (a long, glorified skate board which you lie upon and race downhill on a road course).  His record is something like 98mph.  Sounds more terrifying than flipping a Porsche at Daytona.....
