I went to JPS this afternoon to pick up a rear left light lens to replace the one that I cracked one of those times I tightened the rear light.

John is in the middle of building a coupe with Subaru engine, however, it is almost done. He let me drive it around. It is sweet, the engine rev quickly, the car accelerate quickly and sounds great (not as the aircooled engine though) . He said that he is still finishing the car, but even now it is really nice.

I remember somebody once was looking for a coupe with Subaru engine. Go get in touch with John.

Hey Kelly,

Sorry I don't have any picture, but the only difference is the engine, So if I take a picture, it is a picture of a Subaru engine. The transmission, suspension, steering etc is the same as any other coupe (depending what the specs). This is his mule car (although Gerd claimed it was his) that he uses for his development. It was used before for his electric coupe.

Thanks Eddy. Concerning the ECU, depending on John's engine source, I've read that Outfront Motorsports (A Suby rebuilder - used to be Outback Motorsports) does their own ECU to accommodate the lighter weight and eliminate some features like airbag warnings and four wheel drive data the engine no longer needs. I believe it still passes OBD II requirements, if needed by the owners registration.
