Hello to anybody.
I just got my new Thunder Ranch Spyder.
I have wanted one build one for years and have done quite a bit of research.
Now I've got to build it. I'm just looking for some general info.
1) What kind of shifters do you like?
2) What kind of pedal sets did you use?
3) Anybody in the Vancouver Wash or Portland Oregon Area?
Any input on how you built yopur car would be appreciated.

I don't know how far Medford is from Portland but if it's close, I'd recommend you take up the offer from Angela.

As far as shifters, what kind of an engine/trans are you planning of using. Many folks use Brandwood cable shifters, Jamar shifters and a some home made.

CNC and Neil make a great pedal set, available at most dunebuggy shops or on line
I used a Tilton set, three master cylinders, 2 for the brakes and one of the clutch.
Rem,
I'm in the very final stages of finishing my TR car. I've got a web site with a bunch of pics showing the entire process. It's chronological for the most part.

Your specific questions -

* I went with a Brandwood shifter and couldn't be happier.
* I used the stock pedal set, shortened by 1" with the gas pedal mounted separtately (cut off the stock setup).

Take a look at the pics and feel free to ask me any questions.

congrats, btw,

Thanks for everyones input.
Steve- Medford is a pretty good drive but get down that way from time to time. Maybe next time through I could stop.
Any tips on your 2002 TR you can pass on?

Nathan- Thanks for the link. Your car looks great. I like the work you did with the oil cooler. What was the reason for the foot box?
I had TR move my firewall back 2.5 inches. I'm 6'-3" so I wanted to make sure I had enough room. Do your stock pedals work for you.
Also, whats the story on your rims. They look great. Who's the manufacturer?
Rem
Rem,

I have size 15 feet! Hence the tray, and there's another one just above on the underside. As for the pedals, I used stock ones, shortened by 1 inch. I added OMP pedals to them, and they work great. As for the rims, call Tom - they came from TR. 3 piece aluminum, 16".

BTW, the Arachnamania event this past weekend in Prescott/Jerome was killer:
