Maybe I'm a sucker (you'll see the connection in a sec) but I'm really pleased with CB Performance. I recently bought a set of stainless steel braided brake lines for the car and upon installation I discovered that one of them leaked badly. I tried to get it to seat, but no dice. I called them and they told me to send it back and they'd check it out. If they verified the problem, they'd send me a new one (otherwise I guess I'd get the old one back). Well today I got a new replacement line. Also in the package were three Tootsie-Pops (there's the connection). I like it when someone takes an extra step like that, even if it's a small one.

the only reason i won't go with CB Performance is they only ship UPS.

I live in Canada and UPS totally scams you with the BS "brokerage" fees. I bought something for $150 and paid $140 shipping (UPS) and then when it arrived i had to pay another $67

I *really* want a set of their aluminum bases / filters for my IDF's but they said shipping was going to be $50 on $65 air filters. I said if they would ship USPS (Max $23) - I'd buy them.

It's not so much the $27 difference, but rather i refuse to give them any more money.

CB is pretty good although oftentimes they tell you they're a week behind in shipping. With regards to the candy thing I guess Gene Berg was the pioneer. I've always gotten some nice candies thrown in with my orders from them; nice gesture. They also included a pocket calendar in one of my orders.
Lane:

I ordered all of the stuff to fix my broken rocker arm shaft from CB (of course, you can't just order what you need - you have to order a whole bunch of other stuff that you want, too!) and when I opened the box I also got a couple of tootsie pops and a small bag of skittles. Quite a surprise!

Those CB folks are alright!!

Paul, I agree with you 100% on UPS brokerage fees. I usually have my purchases sent to Sumas, Washington, and drive over to pick them up. Last week I had a billet aluminum thermostat cover sent to me for my V8 Miata. I thought the seller was going to send it USPS, but he sent it UPS (my mistake, not his). The item cost me $110. Shipping was $20, and the brokerage fee was $40!
I've learned my lesson.....from now on everything goes to my parcel depot in Sumas.
