This morning Tom Buchanan and I went to check out a project CMC genuine barn find speedster project that's getting scarce. The gentleman that owns it has buildings full of interesting stuff, machinery etc. he also buys and sells those small Ford Fiestas from the 80's as there seem to be market for them. The speedster is covered in a heavy film of dust the body is sitting loose on a IRS rusted chassis. it needs the front frame head and Napoleon hat replaced, there was so much stuff piled in to the car I couldn't get a good look at the floors but I'll assume they'll need replacing too.  The fiberglass body was interesting …. Someone cut the "frunk" completely out and kept most of the Beetle's steel front trunk and original steel VW bulkhead in place, an interesting "engineering" concept and tons of work to get it where it now so that it actually fits. There are at least  7 plus cartons of new Stoddard's Porsche parts we went through along with a new windshield and piles of the CMC parts. It also has what appears to be an original P' steel top frame Has a complete older single port engine in the car but the condition is, unknown.  I'll need to figure out the total investment for this thing but also need to consider the many additional hours to bring everything back to a stating point in a safe craftsman like manner and then, begin the entire build.  I'm not jumping up and down and not sure if I'll go for this or not but I do have a week to let the seller know my intentions. Everything is doable but this might test my remaining Golden Years of sanity~

Decided to pass on this project, there are just too many unknowns and for me to turn it around for sell when completed, it could get iffy. Message me if you are seriously interested in this project for yourself and can do most of the build labor and sub out the body work and paint then, it would probably be a total investment of $22k - $24k range. Located in West Virginia at the WV & OH state line.
