Cary Hines (Beck/SE) has in past delivered them to folks at Carlisle (4 or 5 one year if I recall correctly. You probably left it too close to deadline to inquire with hm - but worth a call. Used/new parts vendors seem to be decreasingat Carlisle - although you may find VW and MG parts - not much in way of Speedster parts.
@chines1 Contact Carey Hines he may be able to bring you one to Carlisle
PM sent to you about windshield.
Do Canadians break windshields more often? Is it a "thing"?
Mind boggling questions for sure, eh?

Danny. It's all those roving bands of Vikings and Goth warriors that we have up here. Add to that ice pellets the size of footballs; giant wild moose on the roads; dog sleds throwing up baseball size rocks, and it's pretty tough driving up here.
And that's in July...

I had a nice visit today by a lad from somewhere over near the Big Smoke and he had recently bought a Speedster from someone nearby me that I had heard about but have never seen. Two cracks in that windshield apparently. The Black one from Metcalfe I think, Ray.
I had a spare windshield in the basement that I had bought from Carey / Beck a couple of years back and sold it to him for my cost less shipping. A knowledgeable and cool guy who used a 944 as a delivery vehicle....Win win.
lol, Well I think he was trying to sell it on Kijiji at one time.
Good for both of you.
BTW< Today, I was hitting every gaz line clamp for tightness and my main line running to the engine compartment goes from metal to rubber and it seemed loose but I could keep going and going.. is there a time I could get it too tight? I better get another clamp at NAPA before this trip... Any suggestions? Maybe I should put two of them...
I avoid hose clamps like the plague so many of the el'cheapo's cut into the hose. ..then you're standing there adjusting your mixture screws and realize your standing in a large puddle of gas which pairs well with the interior of your home...NOT ! I recommend NAPA 705- 1226 fuel injection hose clamps $ 1.29 each.
Thanks again Dave made it home np. can't wait to install and get the car safeted and on the road.

Yes that is what I have but it really seemed to have no bottom .... Thanks Alan.
@Alan Merklin any suggestions on how tight they are to be or should I consider simply changing it as over time it might have bottomed out... I just can't have that fail on my Carlisle trip.
On a smooth brass carb / pump fittings I snug the FI style clamp until you cannot rotate the hose then turn the screw another 1/4 to 1/2 turn, next day, try to go another 1/4 to 1/2 turn. With a barbed fitting just snug it tight and stop , again next day later try another 1/4 to 1/2 turn
I wonder if I overtightened it too much ....
Over tighten standard hose clamps and two things can happen: The inner band can curl into the hose cutting it. The screw can tighten to the point where it bends away from the band slots and the clamp is junk. The super deals on hose clamps like Harbor Freight and eBay all are crap.
CTC has FI style clamps, Ray. Probably CarQuest and Napa too. I'll never use a screw type clamp again thanks to this good recommend by the Merklinator.
We need an Ontario speedster get together someday. Find a nice central spot, and have a good day.

I have this clamp already but I was in error to think it was loose and probably killed the hose by overthinking it

I think your referring to these clamps

Quick check of the NAPAONLINE site shows the following:
Hose Size NAPA P/N
1/4" 705 - 1225'
5/16" 705 - 1226
3/8" 705 - 1227
Those were the only three that showed up. They probably have other sizes (like for heater hoses, etc.)
Buy a few of each so you'll have them on hand. Toss those el-cheapo worm-drive clamps that cut up your hoses!
Remember - that style shown immediately above is good for barbed fittings and NAPA has those, too, color-coded by hose size from 3/16" (string trimmer fuel) up to 3/4".
Happy Clamping!
Thanks for all the help.
I exclusively use the spring type clamps, but on a 3 psi carb system. With EFI, I'd probably use the screw type recommended by the Merklinator.
