We saw a comment posted somewhere that there was a repair shop in the Auburn or Sacramento CA area that will work on our replica speedsters. We want to get the front drum brakes replaced with disc brakes by someone who knows what they’re doing. Anybody know of any good shops that can do that for us? Thanks, Bob & Gae

Bob, Tony is the go-to guy for most of us in the Sacramento area with Speedsters or any VW for that matter.
Thanks all, we will call Tony Thursday 👍
Cannot say enough good things about Anthony. He knows his stuff without a doubt. I had an issue that went on for years and other "expert" air cooled guys could not figure it out and he fixed it. Nuff said!

What was the problem?
In the end it was newly rebuilt 010 distributor that was bad. Too long a story to tell here in it’s entirety. Tell over a beer at a gathering.
I really appreciate that you guys gave me the suggestion that I go to Anthony’s Classic Car Werks! I had him remove my front drums & install a high end front disk brake kit, also new rear drum brake wheel cylinders, and a custom shortened clutch cable, not sure which company it was from but works great! He also welded some tube having to do with the clutch cable. And even though it took him more hours to fix everything then he estimated, he didn’t charge me extra for it! Highly recommend Anthony!!!
That's great, Bob! Now make plans to attend the West Coast Gathering in SLO, June 8-11. There will be a number of us heading down from the greater Sacramento area. Check it out in the Events section.

Do you know which disc brake kit was installed?

ALB: Tony installed a CB Perfomance Front Disc Brake Kit with the Porsche 5-bolt pattern.
