The "Comfort Seats" used in the Speedsters wont give you the lateral support of the stock Beck Spyder seat.....    You may find your self sliding around a bit....  I believe some people have used Miata seats.....  Check around before committing.....   Check with Carey Hines (Special Editions) and see what he reccomends....

Although original Spyder seats LOOK like Speedster seats, they are slightly different and the Speedster seats are too wide for the car. 

 

I assume you have the older style stock Beck seats (lots of ribs stitched down the bolsters, no slots in the back).  If so, most of them actually have more padding than the original style seats do...

 

We do space our seats up in the rear (as suggested by Wolfgang) to level them out.  I just use steel spacers and not oak, but either would do.
