Ed, have you priced a real or replica 4-cam recently? I'm sticking with my original statement: Follow the money.

Yeah, Danny yeah yeah. But hey, I've been studying these and frankly they don't look that hard. I've got a couple old solid drive axles in the scrap bucket plus some roller bearings and such so I'm gonna try making a couple of these four-cam heads out of spare junk & see if they'll bolt up....

Short update. The car is back on the road after rebuilding the damage from the exploding cooling fan. Along the way it got a set of Panchito heads and a boost in compression, just for the fun of it. While I was in there I rebuilt the oil filter and external oil cooler setup and put in all new AN hoses. No leaks yet. I also rebuilt the air conditioning mounting setup and recharged it. With my snazzy new 90 amp CHROME alternator, I'm styling. I think this is the end of my updates to this build thread. It's time to switch over to the ongoing enjoyment and tweaking phase of Speedster ownership. Thanks again to all of you good folks for helping me get to this point!

It’s hard to tell what’s going on in that engine bay with all that bling blinding me.

Glad you got it up and running Mike. Now go out and enjoy it for a while.

I just got out for an essential ride over to our son's condo. Our granddaughter needed some books and plush toys that had migrated over before the lockdown. I met my son in the parking lot and we both wore masks. Felt like a drug deal, but with more Disney princesses. The car revs easy and I caught myself at 5500 rpm several times. It should be good for well over 6K, but I'm a little wary.
