I got a sheet of mirrored plexiglass from the local glass shop/auto windshield installer. Looks and acts just like glass but you can cut it with a saw/dremel or score it, snap it off, and just shape it with a sander. PLUS it's wicked cheap to buy ! !

It's really neat, I've re-done five or six mirrors and counting. They come out great and give me something to do while I'm watchin' TV. You honestly can't tell the difference between glass and mirrored plexi.

Luck,

T

Oh, if you decide to get new mirrors, sell me your old ones with the bad glass, would you?

Thanks.
I just replaced the passenger side mirror (Aero), with the convex version, from Sierra Madre. Couldn't just replace the glass, as it was a very slightly different shape to the original, but the replacement took five minutes to do and visibility on that side is now much better. The huge blind spot is now virtually eliminated.

$40 well spent, I would say.
John says he has a convex mirror. So do I - from a water ski boat no less. Convex gives a much improved field of vision - in my case I can see all three lanes of traffic behind me from a centerpost mounted mirror. Just one problem everyone should be very aware of - convex mirrors totally distort the ACTUAL distance between you and a following vehicle. For that information I use my regular side mounted mirrors. Convex is good, just be aware of it's limitations as well as it's advantages.
