I like the prior RIP 3 wheeler with the Harley twin air cooled but at least the 3 wheeler is still around - albeit with a 3 cylinder Ford engine, 5 spd Miata trans and a CUP holder!  Note the side luggage carrier for your dog or unruly child.  Wait NO side pipes to burn your calves or heat up a cup of tea?

My one friend has a 2013 3-wheeler, and my other friend has a 2016 3-wheeler.  I really love them.  I recall being with my buddy when he took delivery of his 2016, and telling him, why would you purchase such an impractical car?  I later purchased a speedster, which is only a few more notches up on the practical scale.

With all that said, I truly love the S&S front mounted engine M3W.  An incredibly unique driving experience.  And looks nothing like anything on the road.

I went for a drive with both of them.....they were riding behind me.  Each time I caught a glimpse of them in my rearview mirror, I couldn't help but think about being tailed by  a couple of Spitfires.

The green one, the 2013, swapped out the headlamps with a larger headlamp more in tune to those found in a 1920s-early 30s autos.  I really like that change.  He also added the Brooklands windscreen.

The blue (orange interior) has the updated dash design for the 2016 up models.

That has been the chief complaint regarding the redesign, the elimination of the front mounted engine.

.

From the start, the three was designed as a way around the rules.

For a long time, the previous model continued that tradition — the only Mogey legal for sale in the US because, technically, it wasn't a 'car'.

But the rules have finally caught up. There was no way the old steam punkish air-cooled motorcycle engine (or any other air-cooled engine) was gonna pass the coming Euro standards. Any other company would have faced facts, dropped the concept altogether, and moved on. To their credit, I think, Morgan was determined to keep the hundred-year-old in-your-face Spitfire-on-wheels alive. They started with what must have been an expensive clean slate, built around a Ford three-cylinder engine designed from the ground up to comply (DOHC, turbo, hybrid port and direct injection, etc. etc.).

I think the three is their best-selling model, so they did have some fiduciary incentive to have a go. This new thing ain't as funky as the old, but it's still got way more character than anything Jaguar or Bentley or Aston Martin or anyone else who is trying to be a 'manufacturer' is doing — on a development budget that's a fraction of what the other guys can spend.

Hey, it's 2022. The future is bleak. This is what passes for scandalous fun today.

Enjoy it while you still can.

There'll always be a Morgan
And Morgan shall be free

As Morgan means to me

I don't know what this car is, and it looks like a BMW engine in front, but what really caught my eye from years ago was the Jack Russell up in the Crow's Nest:

Here's our late pups.  Starting when Murphy (on the right) was about a year old he would stand on my shoulders while I walked around, like a little mountain goat.  He preferred that, instead of a shopping cart.  We were quite the pair.

I refer the look of the previous model but it had a number of cons with the biggest one being flat repair. Not many places have the tooling to remove that tire. However, I really like the new model as well. I have spec'd one out a few times looking for just the right look but at a price just as much as my 2023 Porsche 718 it isn't very feasible.
