Greetings all,

My Speedster came with a white shift knob. It was just screwed on and constantly unwinds itself as I shift.

To fix should I buy a single nut (and perhaps a washer) and screw tight?

Is there any more elegant ways of doing this or is this it?

Three ways to approach this, your preference:

Get a regular Metric nut to fit the threads and use it as a locknut on the bottom of the shift knob, or:
Get a Metric "Jam Nut" to fit the threads and use it as a locknut on the bottom of the shift knob. The Jam Nut is about half the thickness of a regular nut and won't be as noticeable. Or:
Put some Locktite Blue on the shift lever threads and then screw the knob on. If it loosens up with the Locktite, then go the Jam nut route.

I believe it to be 10mm x 1.5mm pitch.

Loctite blue. Apply to threads, screw on knob, leave dry for a few days. Problem solved!

never had any luck with superglue or JB Weld,, loctite blue is another story

A bit of caulk on the threads will hold it securely in place but will also allow for you to unscrew it should you need to at a later date .
