Dear fellow tragics,
I have an early model MX5 (Miata to you septics), an NA6 model to be precise and I find the seats a very comfortable (and fairly narrow) seat.
My recently purchased Apal replica has some seats fitted by the previous owner which appear to be recovered VW seats (Scat seats?) of some kind which are neither comfortable nor do they recline properly (they are too reclined in the most upright position).

I am thinking of trying to fit a pair of MX5 seats from the NA6 in the Speedster.
Does anyone out there have experience with such a fitment?

Thanks,
Phillip
Hi Phillip, I think they look fine. Classic seats are OK if you don't want to drive far but a little basic. I have headrests too which can come off (but never have) I've often driven 150 miles, can just about do 150 without refueling and felt fine at the end. They're all black, fully functional, forward, back, reclining and swing forward for the bench seat access. It's an everyday car for me.I'm not small either, well 5ft 9inches but 20 stone (280 pounds for you american guys) I have a good soft top with no leaks, so is a practical car for me.
Hi Jesper,
I really like the look of those seats in your car.
Unfortunately, our Australian-spec MX 5s have seats with integrated (tomestone style) headrests which to me don't look quite as right in the Speedster rep, although they are comfortable (I have an MX 5 and they fit me well).
I would also like to know what shiter (gearlever) you have fitted, if it's a short shift, and if so where did you get it.

Regards,
Phillip
