I had my engine builder snap some cell pictures of the exhaust that he's building me. My requirements were pretty simple..........I want to hear that type 4 that's in the back and it has to be a single center exit and I want a one off.

Very sad pictures, but after this weekend I should have much better ones. We've been discussing the design and in the beginning he found out that we couldn't get silencers locally, so he made his own.

All of this is one off. I love this design, should be a bit of a screamer.

How's that crazy baffling.....?

Gary, make sure you take advantage of the open mufflers -- silencers? -- and the new condition of the system and throw some header paint on the pipes.
You'll want some kind of protection on them, judging by that first bit of rust already showing up.
If they're installed already, you'll need another set of copper crush-washers to insert into the heads.
GREAT looking setup! I might have to make some notes for my next set!
Thanks bud, yup, I've had header paint done to the whole set, up, the little bit of rust that you see it just from when the materials were laying in the garage, this still hasn't been mounted on the car yet. I'm probably still going to heatwrap this sucker as well, cause I dunno what kind of effect it's going to have on the bumper, rear of the speedster.

Gary - heat on rear fiberglass:

I have a BAS 4-1 header and collector running crosswise just inboard of the rear fiberglass valance. The heat from the exhaust made the fiberglass too hot to touch (though it never hurt the paint). My solution was to put a thin aluminum heat shield between the two. Fiberglass is cool enough to put your hand on now.

Just in case . . . .
Well I have it back, only got back late Sunday Afternoon and I wasn't going to piss off the neighbours too much.

All I can say is, it's loud, it's loud and FAST. It's really fast, Armand my engine builder and buddy reckons it's no more than 80hp, but damn on a speedy set-up, it flies.

We both in agreement that it sounds a LOT like the 4cam motor.

Videos and sound clips tomorrow. Promise.
