Well, I guess this is happening (sniff, whimper).  The car is now live on BaT.  Y'all know how long I waited for it and I've enjoyed it for almost two years, but the reality is that it I am not as young and limber as I once was, especially after a supposedly minor hip injury a couple of years ago.  Our wants and needs change over time, so it's best for someone else to enjoy this gorgeous car.  Any positive comments from those of you who are familiar with the car would be appreciated.

For those of us who hadn’t seen the car in the flesh, these photos and videos are a first glance into the beauty, grace, and intelligence of its design.

And maybe we can now begin to understand how it must feel to watch such a long-anticipated dream slip away.

Many have tried and failed to somehow mash together old school soul with modern polish and performance, but this looks to have actually done that. It’s got that ‘seamless’ feel that gave the original cars their magic, even though it’s an entirely new design.

I may be sharing some of your sadness, Lane, as each new bid lifts this dream farther and farther from my grasp.

A fellow I know here in Charleston who does high-end detailing for cars being shown at Amelia Island, Pebble Beach, etc.  He also markets cars on various venues including BaT.  He's good at what he does and I'm likely to get a higher price through him than doing it myself.  It also saves me the stress of having to read the BaT comments.  A lot of my track-day buddies here in town know him and some have used his services, which is how I got introduced.  Nice guy named Mike Kotos.

Got it. It was strange to me, because he clearly isn't you - but he's very knowledgeable about the car. It's an almost perfect situation. The way the car was photographed, presented, etc. - even his screen name - all led me to believe he was a 3rd party, which seems (to me, anyhow) to add gravidas to the listing.

You're not playin' here. This one will go for long money.

I certainly understand your "sniffs and whimpers" after letting go my SHPEEDY last month, and your reasons for "pulling the pin" are almost identical to mine.

When the Trailer lights have gone out of sight, though, keep a stiff upper lip but make sure you have Kleenex handy for the next few weeks.

Lane, I too am watching this. I know this has been an agonizing decision for you.

For what it's worth, it is a REALLY nicely done car. Ride, handling(I drove it!), powertrain, fit and finish are all excellent. Plus the remote electric window rollup for trailering(you're welcome!).

I like your color choices too. You know I am not a fan of the wheels in body color, but as you've said before that's easily changed.

It's a very finely appointed car. Somebody a little shorter and/or limber than you is going to get a great thing.
