Hi. I am a lurker to this site for the last 6 months. Thank you for all the helpful advice and comments. I am not a mechanic, just a life-long 356A Porsche nut! My father was the charter founder and first president of the Lone Star Region-PCA in 1961. I chose to purchase this gorgeous auto not only to honor my dad and his legacy, but to also help Porsche celebrate their 60th anniversary of importing the 356A to the USA. Of course, I look forward to years of enjoyment! I will forward pictures soon. Thank you, again. And a special Thank You to Kevin and Carey Hines.

HiJohn--congrats on gettiong a great Speedster--you are going to loe it!

The cars are great and are what first attracted everyone to what we call, "The Madness" but what is equally great is the friendship and fun we have at the various gatherings such as the recent Carlisle show---what a blast! The next event is in Asheville, NC and you can read all about it in the "events" section of the forum. It's the weekend of Sept 9th.

Consider joining us for the Ashville event; it's 1,000 miles for you
which is a walk in the park for a Beck. Nolan drove from Ft Lauderdale to the Carlisle event, 1,146 miles and a crazy Canook from the West Coast to carlisle---I don't know how many miles but his total trip zig-zagging accross plus side trips to Vegas, Grand Canyon, etc made the whole thing over 5,000 miles. With an older car and a 1600cc VW engine!. Others will make the trek to Asheville too.

Of course you can break up the trip and are welcome to overnight here in Hot Springs with us and caravan on to Asheville. We'll pick up others in Knoxville too.

A great maiden voyage for your new car and a chance to meet a bunch of other owners including, I believe, Marty from Chicago in his new IM
(650 miles)

Hope you will consider this!
