I've never seen a replica 550 advertised as having 'racing history'.  Of course, it was not the original race, but a replica of that race, so I guess that's okay...

I've taken my IM around Mosport and Watkins Glen, so can I say the same about mine?

That's like saying the 2018 Indy is a replica of the 1st Indy...get a life. You can claim race history if you run the Carrera. This car did that. 2,000 miles. A cruise lap around the track is no in any way the same thing. It's not a poser, but the REAL thing.

When you say “this car,” do you mean this actual replica 550 did the Carerra?  If so, then it has real race history and is very cool.  If it is a replica of a car that did the Carrera, then no, it doesn’t have such history.  I’m hoping it’s the real deal, but a clarification is needed.

EDIT: Read the ad and apparently this actual car did the race.  I hereby pronounce it as “very cool.” 👍

My point was, that this car was done up as a replica of an original 550 that did the race. I appreciate the fact that this car actually did the race.  That was an accomplishment.

But, this is the first time I have seen a replica advertised as having ‘race history’.  I can understand an original being advertised that way, and many are, and that adds to the provenance of the car.

I simply thought it was a stretch to use that approach on a replica.
