They all look good of course and many changes were made mid-year but personally, I think I prefer the looks of the late '57.

Gotta love the early models with bee-hive tail lights.
Signal red or silver 1956 1600 Super 356A with black interior, high-bow top, and half tonneau; bee-hive tail lights; and headlight grills. That is the CLASSIC Speedster look, bar none.
Personally, I like the teardrop tail lights. Sure the Beehive tail lights are the most classic, but I like the rod look. Being an outlaw type, I guess I'd say I the year is less important than the accessories and setup. From wheels and mirrors, to fog lights and top.
Whatever is in my driveway at the time!
Even though my '59 was a rust bucket it had a certain care-free coolness about it. The one I wrecked was real European classy-looking and now I have the cute little look-alike Vintage '58, which has got to be the best of the bunch, of course...
By the way, do we really ever know what year these tubs are truly 'sposed to represent? I bought mine on eBay and the guy said it was built by Vintage Speedsters and is a '58 replica.
I go on the eBay site pretty regularly and I see replicas touting all sorts of years... I know the tail light differences, but curious if indeed there is any difference between a Vintage or CMC etc 'in the molds'
