Roger,

Are you planning on driving around in the rain? Or, do you need an automatic wiper just to get it registered?

I don't recommend driving in the rain. I have been caught out in the sprinkles. Sincerely no fun!

I don't have wipers. Except for the incidental occassions just mentioned, I don't ever expect to need them. During those unexpected occasions: If you are driving slow enough for the water to bead on the windshield, then look over the top of the windshield. Otherwise the speed of the wind will push most of the water off the windshield, at least well enough to see where you are going.

If you plan on driving in the rain, at night; then I have no advice for you. Maybe a labotomy.

If you just need wipers to get by registration, then I have seen some little battery powered things that can clamp onto the top of the windshield frame. They are a temporary solution -- for the purpose intended.
