Just got my used beck yesterday, It almost made it home, It had a carb fire about 50 miles from home.
Right now it is on the street in sherman oaks,(I live in LA). I need to get it towed to a bug place that can rebuild the carb (best scenario) or if it need a complete engine rebuild.

My plan was to take it to durkee performance in hawthorn, I havent been able to get thru or get a message returned.

It will cost me $400 to get it towed into LA, If durkee cant take it for a couple weeks I am screwed.

So my plan B is to take it to someone in sherman oaks who can take it in his shop today.
A guy on the street said tyler at the lakeview chevron is a bug guy, I dont know if that is a real endorsement.

HELP/

Thanks,

Hey Theo,

You may have an old phone umber for Durkee. Im somewhere where I dont have access to thier phone number, but I'll try to post the number here tonight and at the latest tomorrow morning. I believe he is open Mon-Sat. Mike may make an exception for you. Ill also call him and give him your phone number.
I was in a pinch, AAA was not a big help and getting it towed to my apartment complex was not the best plan $$$.

I am sure durkee is great, but they (he) must be very busy or away.

As of now, the car was flatbeded out to vintage. Greg is in the middle of a crunch, but said he'd take a look this week to see where I stand. I need to do a lot to get the car up to spec now. I knew that was the case when I got it for such a great price.

The car has some cool unique work. After a few talks with Joe Maddock, I still feel good about the car. The last few days have been depressing.

If it comes down to a new power plant I will downsize. As it is (or was a few days ago) It is a full on street racer. I want a fast car that I can talk my wife into riding in once in a while. Something in the 17-1900cc range would be plenty of power. now it is a 2110 w/ dual 44's.

I also need to tame the pipes somewhat if I want to keep living where I do.

The exhaust system will need a bigger glass pack welded in.
I am hoping greg can help me with this.
lots of other little things to do on the car too.

I am looking forward to seeing some of your cars. I hope I can get mine running for the next meet or run or show.

Thanks everyone,

Theo Mack
