What a great day to check my car in to the shop for the engine transplant operation. Temps in the upper 30's, roads dry, bumpers off, stripped naked (the Speedster that is). Cruised over to the shop (20 miles away) and didn't even need to wear gloves. Who needs a heater? February 15th, 2012 in Wisconsin! Last year, here at this time, there was two feet of snow on the ground. So long 1911cc, hello 2666cc.

Hey Rich-- I totally understand your excitement aboiut the engine swap. As they say "been there done that"

Carey is the expert and I'd sure listen to his advice. aThe Beck frame must be a lot different from my VE as Jake insisted that we get the CSP Torque Bar to contain the torque. Stainles steel, fabulous
construction and $374.45 from Cip!. The Type 4 has LOTS more torque that most cars were made to handle and my VS was in that category.

The CSP torque bar puts my engine's torque right onto the car wheels.

Lucky you can skip this step.

I hope you can make it to Carlisle===a lot of us would reallylike to check that bad boy out!

When will the transplant be finished?

Have you sold the 1.7 cc Type 4 yet? That engine is gonna make someone very happy!
