IMG_2857IMG_2833Thanks for the welcomes try to answer as many questions as I can here in one post. The silver 57 has the 1958 356 motor and trans on a 68 vw chassis body by beck, has drum brakes, the red 55 has 69 chassis disc brakes in front and drop spindles. The motor is a 1600 and has dual jugs. We are actually in Yelm but figured most people would know where Olympia is more than Yelm. 20 minute drive from everywhere, lol. Here are pics of both the motors.

Is the transaxle in the silver car a 356 vintage as well? VW or 356 (A/B?) drums? (C's had discs, I believe?) Do you know if the VW 1600 has a mild cam, or is it stock? If it goes to 5,000rpm or more with power it's not stock. Stock or ported heads?

And yes, with 2 cars.....

                     WELCOME TO THE MADNESS!!!

Ps- I noticed in the silver car the engine is open to the ground, unlike the 1600 which is sealed off from the exhaust heat and spent cooling air- ever any problems running hot with the 356 engine?
