Hello!

I am looking very seriously at acquiring a 550 Spider. Recently I was the high bidder on the Vintage/Seduction/Martini car on BaT. My high bit @$40,500 did not meet the reserve but I am in discussion with the Seller (really nice guy/enthusiast) but I am in Seattle and the car is in Dallas. I am hopeful that there is a forum member that is local to me (ideally with a Vintage) could let me actually see one in person/perhaps sit in it. I am 6'2", 205lbs and would feel ALOT better about seriously chasing this car once I can confirm that I fit. I really like the Vintage/Seduction built cars. Apparently Seduction is now extinct so they are no longer an option for a new build. If I fit, I think that a 550 would fit nicely in my little collection. Been playing work up for overShop 6-2019 40 years (61 now) and finally have my dream garage, room for one more!

Kind Regards,

Brian P.

If you go to the top of the page look for the MEMBER tab in the top banner. Click on that and move through the prompts so you can put in your zip code and locate members near you. One of them may have a Vintage Motorcars built Spyder who will let you check it out.

Or contact Greg Leach via email or PM and see if he has shipped any cars to Seattle.

Have you been to “ the shop”, in Seattle, near the stadiums.  It’s a car club.  https://theshopclubs.com/

The owner (Matt) may be able to tell you who may have one in SEA.  Happy to facilitate an intro.  I’m in SEA. I know Matt well.

I remember seeing a 550 there not that long ago ( while grabbing food at the restaurant) ... but it actually could have been the  original one that lingers around town and comes out for PCA events. ( it’s there every so often being shown off...).

Also- the ParkPlace guys ( in Bellevue) may know as well... they service VS Speedsters and 550 replicas.  hey used to sell VS, and have sold a 550 or two until they received a cease and desist from Porsche.

Also, you could reach out to Mike at http://wagenschmitt.com/index.php.  (He is in the U district), He services aircooled engines mostly VW and 356... and has a customer with a 550 ... may be a Beck....  not sure.   Mike is old school... and retired, but still works on one/two cars at a time - mostly spring and summer, when the spirit moves him. , He has been working on my engine for years. I take my VS to him for its annual “ once over” every year since 2013.   He is awesome, and lives to share his passion for cars/engines.

Will PM you my cell if you rather talk.

Cheers,

Luis

@MVSpyder. Brian, first, nice setup. Love your garage, which would appear to be as big as my house. It’s just missing a loft seating area so you can gaze below at your collection. ;-)

Which leads me to my second comment, nice collect of cars.  I’m guessing you have an allergy to back seats?  Oh wait, my bad. The 911 has those knee knocker jumper seats......

Good luck in your search. I loved the Martini Spyder on BaT.
