I thought it was "Hi, y'all?"  I'm old guy with interest in old cars too - I'm in NW FL (Destin-Pensacola).  A long way from Ft Myers but the same state!  There are 5 or so Speedsters in my area.  PanhandleBob's VS actually runs.  If you are looking for a project - I know of one in Birmingham and perhaps another in Crestview (both are infamous CMC's out of Miami FL in the '90s).

Wolfgang, thanks for the reply. I'm 76 and my car building days are over. I'm also a snowbird, spending my summers in Ohio. 2 years ago we downsized from 4+ acres and a 32'X48' 2 story garage with a lift and all the tools, to a 1650 sq. ft. home in Ohio and just enough tools to get by. I've always driven the cars I've built and owned, and now I just want to drive and enjoy them.

Florida old guy #3 here, 70 at the moment. I'm in the Panhandle as well, about 20 miles east of Wolfgang (Greg). At the moment my VS is on blocks while I do yoga under it installing wide 5 front brakes to match the wide 5 drums on the rear, getting it lowered a couple of inches all around via drop spindles and adjustable spring plates, installing a new master cylinder, a second set of caster shims, Drum covers and 65mm wheel studs and nuts, new 3 1/2" velocity stacks and mesh covers.  I'm sure I'll find a couple more of those "well, since I've already done this I might as well (insert silly upgrade idea here)".

I should be done in the next couple of weeks......

Look forward to getting together at some point when you are down here.

If you don't want to tinker, an IM or a well sorted Beck might be in order for you, or maybe one of Alan Merklin's builds. He has one he is ready to start on and customize to the owner's specs right now. He is known here as Dr. Clock. @Alan Merklin

@gkgeiger    I'm starting a speedster build around mid January.
