I just purchased a 2006 Spyder with the 2.0 Audi/VW watercooled/injected engine. This one also has the 5 speed. First, What is the big chromed, curved tube that runs from hub to hub over the transmission? Second, any thoughts or experience with changing this 8 valve to a 16 valve twin cam?
What Spyder do you have??? BECK? VINTAGE? TUNDER RANCH ETC....

I would suspect the tube you are asking about is the brace between the rear suspension towers.......Or if the engine is turbo'd, it could be duct work......

Need more data or pics....

As for the electrics, get a volt meter / test light and back track the wiring from the dead lights them selves..... Most likely a wire was plugged into the wrong connector position...
Yes, what Lane says.

And you could probably get a head start answering your other question about the headlights / tail lights by giving the folks at Special Edition (Beck) a call. They certainly know how the wiring schematic is laid out. They also have a reputation for "as good as it gets" customer service. Try them at: http://www.beckspeedster.com/
