There is over 15 years of information and comments on this site, pertaining to all of the current and used-to-be builders, That info is available to anyone by using the search function (small spyglass at the top of the window).  

Please do a few searches to begin to get educated and then come back and discuss specifics.  

There are pretty much two builders left in this hobby. Beck/Special Edition located in Bremen, IN and Vintage Motorcars, LLC located in Hawaiian Gardens, CA. New cars from either maker is at least a two or more year wait, get in line. I didn't mention JPS because you already he has bad reviews. I wouldn't even consider SAS or as they say, "A fool and his money are soon parted.".

Used cars from all of the kit manufacturers and the different builders that have existed over the years come up on the market all the time. Most of them come from Vintage Speedsters that was located in CA. Another category of used cars come from CMC and the majority of them were home built. Nothing wrong with those if they were built by a competent person. JPS built cars come up on the used market but since he hasn't built very many cars you don't see very many. Intermeccanica and Beck/Special Edition come up on the market too but not often.

I don't know what else to tell you since your post was so vague.

Thanks for the replays. I'm going to look for a used Beck and if I can't find what I want I'll order one.

Very few people have ever complained about Beck's build quality or service.

Of course, I would recommend Intermeccanica, but that's not possible unless you get a used one.

Beck makes a very good car.

The saddest stories we see here consistently are folks who jump in too soon, without doing their homework.

If your post starts with "I just bought this..." or "I just put a deposit down on that...", it's too late for us to be of much help. We can offer sympathy and solace, but not a line of credit.

These can be great cars, but build quality, performance, and the integrity of support varies over a very wide range. There's a ton to learn and many ways to be seriously disappointed or financially hurt.

Take your time, read as much as you can, join the discussions, and don't be afraid to ask before writing any checks. My own take is that at least a few months should pass between your first interest and when you even consider spending any dollars.

I waited about six months, thought I knew all I needed to know, and took the plunge about ten years ago. It turned out I still needed a few more diving lessons.

And I've got the receipts to prove it.
