Here you go. Sorry it's filthy, but I drive mine more than clean it.20230522_105407

It's 6.5" in total length. The clamp tube is indeed cut in the middle, the squeezed seam disappears in the photo.

Three holes drilled into the extension easily welds the three tabs on the cone.

I leave mine on all the time, the extension clears both the clamshell and the license plate.

I think another aspect to the noise reduction in both of our solutions, besides diffusing the sound waves, is gettin the exit a little further out from under the car which, I’m guessing, reduces reverberations off/inside the clamshell.

Like the good old days.

I agree.  And, on another note regarding this classic exhaust setup that you attached, I was thinking about doing this (adding a longer tip) after a short drive with my wife this past Saturday evening.  After a 15 minute turn around the neighborhood, we both smelled of exhaust fumes upon our return.  Now, perhaps this is the way it's just gonna be with a Spyder, but I thought that getting the fumes exiting a few inches past the back tip of the shell could perhaps alleviate this issue.

Thanks everyone for all the great suggestions and setups! Very helpful.
Some earlier posted a link to A1, where I suppose Tiger works, but the link sent me to the wrong A1. I called them and he politely told me I had the wrong A1, and he regularly gets calls for the other A1. So I’m still hunting for the correct A1 where Tiger works, but cannot wait a year to get new exhaust system.

Ahhh...now I can see the tubing that provides the muffling effect -- I was wondering what was inside.

You know, not only is this appendage delivering lower sound levels as attended, it's also one very cool-looking device.  😍✌

I generally eschew non-period correct additions, but cookie cutters were traditional on Porsche race cars starting with the 904. And I really dig them.

I realize this thread is about Spyders and I'm not sure if this will contribute to the discussion at all, but this video of a Vintage Speed exhaust is the nicest looking and sounding exhaust I ever had on any of my Speedsters.  Engine is a 1915cc.

Troy, you need the GF to hold the phone by the exhaust while you rev it. The fan noise overwhelms the exhaust note.

Beautiful car, and exhaust.
