Great looking Speedster! Engine size? Discs or drums? swingaxle or independent rear suspension? 4x130 or 5x205 mm bolt pattern? I think someone's going to be wanting to borrow the car when they get older... Al
Thanks! Discs all round, 1915cc engine, swingaxle, 5x205. He wants me to drop him off at school every day

Very cool! Do you have any details about the engine output or what's in it? And I don't like the look in your son's eyes- you're gonna have to hide the keys when he gets his licence...
I don't know too much about it except it's the standard 1915cc 110hp offering from VMC - twin 40mm Kadrons, Magnaspark ignition. I'm going to ask VMC if they have a more detailed breakdown.

When you talk to them can you ask what camshaft is in it and it's specs? You want to know the duration, duration @ .050" and lift at the cam. Thanks in advance- Al
WOO HOO, she's a beauty! Congrats on getting your new ride. Here's wishing you many miles of top-down cruising enjoyment.
"Welcome The Madness" known as replica Speedster ownership.

It’s a beauty. Welcome to the madness.
@ALB I'll ask and report back!
@IaM-Ray I live in SF so Hwy 1 isn't far away. We also have a 79 VW Bus and did a camping trip from Santa Monica to Petaluma. Went all the way North on the 1 - it was stunning, but took a really long time!
@MusbJim @Michael Pickett Thanks for the welcomes!

Took a really long time... sure it is slow and the view is so intoxicating that you have to drive slow or you'll be off the cliff especially in the northern parts

It has a brown top, side curtains and cover with a Buck interior (I'll grab a photo in a bit!)

Al, I think it's YOU who wants to know all that stuff.
It sounds to me like Matthew just wants to drive the thing.
What I find amazing is that his son wants to be seen being dropped off at school by his dad. The Speedster is a truly transformative vehicle.
Party on, Matthew.

I actually got super lucky - someone else ordered this and didn't follow through with the sale. I was plan B! It basically had everyone on it that I would have spec'd up anyway.

...and soccer, and scouts. I actually found my younger one in there curled up asleep on Saturday! Time to set some rules...
That is lucky. Congratulations. I ordered one a month ago. Expecting about a year wait.
