Here's one shot of my new wheels.  It's just set beside the car.  Front 17x6, Rear 17x8 with Continental ExtremeContact Sport tires.  Looking forward to Spring to getting them on the car and trying them out.

Great looking wheel, Bob!

It must be a huge relief to you that the P crest lines up with the valve stem.

Well, I guess if you are going to fake it, you might as well do it properly.  Actually, that was my major concern when the wheels were being assembled...

And, Gordon, I never could stand the original P wheels on the car, but they stood in until I could get the ones made that I wanted.

What a fantastic looking car! Please post a few more pics, this is an inspirational pic.

Any details on the car/build you can share would be appreciated.

Happy new year.

@racedog911

Thanks.  Here are a few links that will give you more information on the car.  It's a great build and I love it.  (btw, I am not a physician as the rcn magazine article states - that was their error).  Thanks for Gordon Nichols for the Youtube video.

Those are incredible looking wheels. 1000% percent better than the P wheels that were on your car previously. They were way out of place on the Speedster.

Robert.  They were wheels that Henry had that fit the car at the time, until I could get the wheels made that I wanted.  Some people love those D90 P wheels, but I am glad to be rid of them.

I trusted you to make a great choice, and you knocked it out of the park, Bob. Those wheels are befitting of that car.

Home run on all fronts. Send the 928 wheels down the road to somebody who will love them.

Those 17 inch wheels will make the car alot more responsive I would think.

What ET did you have to use on the front and the back?  Did you order the same  ET as the D90 wheels?  Just wondering.

I am planning to document my own Fuchs as I have no clue what they are for ET etc.

Are your wheels original Fuchs, Ray? What size(s) are they?

@Bob: IM S6- 205's and 225's are the same widths as what's on the car now?

Your 16x6" wheels (911.361.020.43 early, 911.362.113.00 late) will have 36 mm offset and 112 mm backspacing. I don't know the reason for the different part #'s or if there are any differences in the wheels themselves, but they fit (and as far as I know, look) the same.

For the 16x7" wheels there are 3 different part #'s: the first 2-                                              911.361.020.44- early 1977-'84                                                                                                    911.362.115.00- late '85 on

are (like the 16x6" wheel) essentially the same wheel, have the extra inch added to the outside (as I believe yours are, but I'm not 100% sure), and have 23.3 mm offset and 112 mm backspacing.

There was a 16x7" Fuchs wheel made for the 944 (951.362.115.00) and it's made like the super rare (and uber expensive) 15x7" '67 911R wheel with the inch added to the inside- 49 mm offset, 138 mm backspacing. This would be a cool way to add a slightly wider tire/wheel package to the back of a Speedster!

Question (for anyone out there)- is ET the same as offset?

For reference- https://members.rennlist.com/911pcars/WheelWts.html

And the visual, with a couple of notes- the 911 16x6 and 16x7 wheel list the late part #'s only, the 951 16x7 is not here- look at the 15x7 911R wheel for reference, and there is a 951 part # for a 16x8 (I'm guessing for a 944) that is slightly different (1/2" added to both the front and backside instead of 1" added to the front like the 8" 911 wheel- it's on the Rennlist chart as well).

Hope this helps. Al. and hey- Happy New Year! (everybody)

I found this on that interweb thingy:

Offset is usually stamped or engraved into the wheel and is measured in millimetres of 'ET' [ET is the short form of the German word 'Einpresstiefe' which literally translates as 'insertion depth'] Positive Offset wheels have their mounting face toward the front face of the wheel.

ET is insertion depth(or offset) and is measured from the center of the rim to the mounting face of the wheel(so technically the same as offset).
