The car was advertised in last Sundays Washington Post. I called the owner this afternoon; the car is black (original paint) with red interior, and the interior needs to be redone. New brakes and some front suspension service work has been done, and he says NO RUST. All the rubber weather stripping and window seals need to be replaced as the rubber has dried out. The car belonged to his mother who garaged and drove it in Dallas, TX, for 30 years (between 3,000 and 4,000 miles a year); it was always serviced by Economy VW on Lemmon Ave. in Dallas. Evidently she bought the car as a demo or slightly used in 1965. Asking price is $4,500 but he'll listen to reasonable offers. If anyone is interested shoot me an email; I could probably check the car out for you.
