Found out the painter that was supposed to do my car has major family problems. I have to empathize as I went through similar circumstances myself. First the hospitalization and family counseling afterwards. Spoke with SAS and am having the car transferred to another painter and changing the colors to expedite the build. Regardless what others may think or say about SAS Steve Lawling still produces a top grade car that any owner can be proud of. Yes he's slow but with a two man shop, weather to contend with and having to depend on third party people he still will give you a product that is safe and acceptable by any state inspection. By the way this info was verified by another owner who had just visited SAS.

Funny thing about primer, when I was a kid in high school it was considered uber cool to have a primered spot somewhere on your car. I don't know how it started but for some reason that one spot said something about the owner. Girls would flock around the car and dudes would ask what's under the hood. I guess the only thing I can say now is...

Primer this Vince!

Nolan: Thanks for the update. I was wondering how it was going. I'm still back and forth to South Florida on a regular basis, and looking forward to seeing your car in person soon. What is the new color?

John: Not sure what exactly crawled up your ass and died, but you may want to have it removed.

Peter - here are links to local Porsche events here in OC/SoCal. You'll see some color variations on green/tan combos. Hope this steers you in the direction you're looking for...

Nolan,
As your time grows near, you have to be getting excited! I can't wait to see the SEG all the way from the Bahamas! Let us see any pics, details, etc. to whet our whistle. After Gardner's Coupe, it will be nice to see a "conventional" SAS splashed. I will be back through south Florida to see the new Silver Bullet soon enough. (maybe at Tower Shop Friday Eve). ST
Brian:

There are a whole lot of people in the Vero beach area who are sad that their beloved Dodgers have bugged out to Arizona. Those folks had been coming to Vero for Spring Training for YEARS to see them.....it was more than a ritual.

But now, I guess the team will be closer to their fan base (LA) and please more of the people in the SoCal area, so I suppose it makes sense.

Scott:
You're right, anticipation is growing each day and I've been practicing my SEG. Not to change the subject but my daughter's Ram 1500 started to develop a death wheeze. Needing a reliable vehicle for her job we swapped my 2003 Durango with 50k miles for her 97 Ram with over 150k miles. Then traded in the Ram for a 2009 Dodge Journey. About the same size as the Durango but more bells and whistles. First vehicle I've ever seen with a 110AC outlet in th back seat area and 3 separate AC controllable zones, lets me have 78 degrees while wife can have 80 degrees on her side. Now back to the Cabrio, looking forward to putting $60-$70 worth of gas in it and hit the great American highways to show it off. Will post photos as soon as receive them, any day now.
