I think you're correct with the observation "...that might be just me...." If it gets too nasty (doubt it!), you can drive my SHPEED and maybe Vanessa will let me ride shotgun in comfort?!  See you two soon.

On our way from Vacaville we will be stopping at Treat Blvd in Walnut Creek to pick up @Kevin - Bay Area. This exit has a quick off/on so it's a stop and go. @Rick99GSX will be communicating with Kevin to make it a seamless pit stop.

I'll be choosing to ride 2-Wheels on Friday. You will see me in Cambria at 5:30 approximately, on my Kawi with a GoPro filming the action. 

Alternative will be that I'll see you all at the hotel.

Saturday, planning to cruise with the group in my Beck. I had a preview of the route, looks awesome with plenty of twisties.

Dave Mitchell will be in SLO on Thursday so he and Dee will not be with the NorCal caravan.

@Theron, are you joining us? Maybe just for lunch in Monterey?

@Theron looks like @Vlad coming from San Jose and coming back in San Jose after lunch. Would be good if you can come. 

It's only 3hrs from Bixby Bridge to the hotel. 1:30pm at the bridge means 4:30pm ETA without stops. But some will need gas in Gorda (at least I will), plus a 5-mile round-trip detour up Nacimiento-Fergusson Rd. I'm assuming 60-90 minutes of buffer. No?

Now that there's list of miscreants showing up at Monterey @ 12 Noonish AND there's mention of lunch....should I make a reservation at the Lalla Grill (also at the Del Monte Shopping Center with Starbucks) for #10?

Well all you guys enjoy the drive. I’ll be chillin and helping @Robert M on Friday by the pool. 

@Dave Mitchell, since you're arriving early, would you mind bringing the route books with you? I can drop them off to you tomorrow.

Ryan, why a round-trip detour up/down NF road? Why not just take it over to G14 and down to SLO on the back-roads I described last year?

Because Cory and I may be the only ones to drive it. Plus it would add another hour to the trip and Terry is already on my case about the current route. I'll let the others correct me if I'm wrong. I may take it on the way home.

But that 5 mile detour is worth it!

Tell Terry to put it in 5th and just enjoy the ride.

...I have to say...the coast through Morro Bay into SLO will be much cooler than going inland, we're (Atascadero) at 97 right now (in the shade), thank God for swimming pools!

I sure hope Roberto has some coastal driving for Saturday, it's going to be...muy caliente!

 

Terry never struck me as a person who enjoyed being told what to do. I'm happy to chase him down Hwy 1 as far as I can. Why not join us, Will? You can take Nacimiento Fergusson Rd to meet us at the lookout.

I might drive up to Gorda to meet you all, I’ll have to see how the day lines out...

I don't want to deter anyone from enjoying the scenery but I start my drive at 7:30...

There is always some coastal driving when we get together. It’s at the end of the run after it warms up. If the coastal run comes too early it’s too cold for everyone. We’re inland in the morning and after lunch we head to the hills and on to the coast. Weather.com has us with mild temperatures in the morning with a predicted temperature of 72 degrees where we’re having lunch and a high of 84 but we’ll be headed to the coastline by that time. If we do nothing but the coast run it’s a long, straight drive behind a caravan of motor homes and I can’t think of anyone who’s into that. 

It'll be perfect @Robert M. Nobody can predict the weather 100%  Even @Cory McCloskey can't get it right every time.

Where did you send it?

Kevin introduced me to the private group feature of Glympse. While I've used the app for years, I never actually created an account. Here's how I got the group invite to work:

1. Download and Open Glympse (iOS and Android)
2. Login to Glympse (I just had to put my phone number in and enter the code)
3. Click the link that Kevin sent you via text message (PM him your number!)
4. I had to repeat Step 3 a few times before it correctly opened Glympse and added me to the group.

This is a great way to keep us together. Thanks Kevin.
