The wine country run will take place August 2nd and 3rd. We will be meeting in the north bay area on Sat. morning, and heading north to the wine country, with several stops to wine taste and picnic for lunch. One of the stops will be at the Andretti winery near Yountville, which is owned by Mario himself. Then on to Dinner or BBQ. for the evening. At which time anyone who wants to head home can, the rest of us from the north will stay at a hotel or bed & breakfast and leave the next morning. I'll keep you posted as the details are worked out. I'm hoping we can include cars from the San. Fran. area, and the Sacramento area too. So let me know who can make it. Eddie

The offer seems to be genuine. Sounds like alot of fun. Rick, the one who made the offer, forwarded me this description. He had two homes in napa, one on 5 acres with 2acres of italian gardens, pool, fountains. The other is a 1880 Victorian on 78 acres with 60ft pool, etc. He offered to host our function and do a loop tour between to two houses.
Rick, if you read this please respond.

Eddie,

Sounds like a great run!
Being a "Newbie" to the Speedster world (owner for 2 months) I'd like to join your run in August. Is it o.k. if my speedster has a few "character" marks? She ain't perfect, but she's a lot of fun!
Please keep me posted if "Newbies" are welcome on this one.

Brian.
Eddie,

Got to looking at the map and the two legs down to Napa, Oregon to Redding and then Redding to Napa. It looks like right at 350 miles and if you are going to have an early morning meet in Napa, Whew! It would mean a sleepover for me on the way down and back. I would probably have to get up and on the road here in Oregon about 2am on Saturday morning. My old body probably wouldn't like a nonstop kamakazi run to Napa. What do you think, figured out when you plan on leaving Redding? Bruce
Eddie:

Here is a semi-colon delimited email list of most of the people in the Northern California Club. You can easily cut and paste this into your "To" field on your email browser and send to everyone at one time. I don't believe everyone in the group reads the Forum.

Hope this helps get more people on the Napa run.

Eddie, Thanks for asking. I just got back from a week in Chicago and Im doing catch-up on email and formum messages. I am looking forward to August 2nd and meeting all of you. I finally have a Saturday off on a weekend when something is happening. I am on the way to Napa from Redding so let me know when you will be "flying" thru and I will hook up for the rest of the drive. Looking forward to it.
Thought I'd let everyone know I talked to Mr. Rick Warren today, and he's checking his calander for our run the first weekend in August.I'll post the results as soon as I find out. I havn't heard from very many people from the S.F. bay area yet, please, everyone must post if you plan to attend, as we will have to let Mr. Warren know how many he can expect to have at his house. Thank you for your help. Eddie
Just a note to update everyone. Mr. Warren has graciously offered to participate in our Wine Country Run. We are finalizing the meeting place Sat. morning, and the route, with some very special stops, as well as a BBQ at his home in Pope Valley on Sat. nite. There will be overnite accomodations at his home, inside as well as outside. A short distance away are hotels and B&B's. We will all have to chip in for the BBQ dinner. I'll post the amount when I know it. One more thing, there will be swimming for anyone who wants to Sat. nite. Is this going to be fun or what! Eddie
Eddie,

Sounding great, the accomidations outside, does that mean I can bring my little tent and sleeping bag? Haven't used them since my Alaska trip. I think everything will fit in the Speedster as long as my wife doesn't want to come along! Still thinking about the first leg from Oregon to meet you guys in Redding. Any thoughts on that?
