Northern Cali Speedster Run/Putt-Putt June 8th

Meet in Cupertino @ StarBucks corner of Stevens Creek Blvd and DeAnza Blvd @ 10am. Leave there at 11 am drive Up 280 to 92 to HalfMoon Bay and then Down Hwy 1 and eat lunch in Pescadero then back over HWY 17.

Everyone is welcome even if you have no speedster as of yet or still thinking....

Waiting to get my car back from JPS. Should be any day now, so I should be there. Heck, with or without it, I'll be there. Prefer it's with "Baby-car".

Just a suggestion, with 3 metro areas like San Fran., Sac., and Redding with members, maybe we could look at Napa or Sonoma or Clear Lake as the next Nor Cal. Rally. Just an idea? Eddie

I'm with Eddie. Wine Country Tub Tour would be a lot easier for me & I'm sure Medicine Man (Paul Harford) would join us too, since we live minutes from each other.~R

Can't make it, but I don't have a Speedster right now anyway. I would have to rumble along in my 67 austin mini, which is for sale by the way...

Great suggestion Eddie, Anything North of the Bay area would become doable for critters like myself who live in Southern Oregon. Maybe a group of us Oregon, No. California drivers could meet and caravan to the starting point,(In No. California of course.)I can see it now, CHIPS would do a double take seeing all our time warp cars putting down I-5. For myself, it would mean an overnight I would think. Never having been on one of your Putt-Putts, what is the normal agenda?

I know of a beautiful drive through the wine country. Rte. 128, it starts near Napa and heads north through hills and vinyards and ends up in Geyserville. If one wants to make an expedition of it, the road continues from Cloverdale all the way to Hwy. 1 just south of Mendocino. The first half takes about 90 mins, if I remember correctly. The full trip takes from 3 to 4 hours. It is a fun drive, and very pretty country. Anyone else done this trip, or know of others?

Mike, that's the kind of trip I was talking about. Maybe we could start it in the south and make a 3 to 6 hour trip north to a nice bed and breakfast, then some people could head home from there, while the people from the north could spend the night and leave for home in the morning. doing it on a Saturday would be best, maybe the last part of June or in early July as long as it's not on the 4th. Any one up for taking the point on this one? Eddie

I'd be up for the Wine trip route & most likely so would Medicine Man (Paul Haford/Totally Terrific Tub). My 20 month old (first kid...) has temporarily changed my playing with my toys (my VS was delivered when she was born in 2001 & I have logged 900 miles...) & closer trips to home (live in Solano CO.) would be much easier for me. I'm definitely interested.~R

This is sounding pretty neat for us Northerners. I still don't have my JPS and hopefully by early July I'll have it for a drive. I've got a Studebaker International meet the last week of June in Sacramento so I'll be in the region but not driving the Speedster. The month of July looks pretty good to me after the 4th sometime. Going to Hot August Nights in early August,Reno, so July looks like good timing for me. By that time I should have the Speedster sorted out for my learning

Hi all,
I had a great time on the road yesterday. The weather was fine, and even with the park-and-creep traffic the driving was fun. It was nice to see some new faces on the cruise. Hopefully we can get even more on the next one. There were quite a few nice cars on the road. As I was driving north to Half Moon Bay there was a string of old Fords going the othere way, including a few Model T Speedsters. When I got home at 3:30, I hadn't had enough, so I picked up a friend of mine and went for another two hours around the Pleasanton area. All in all a great day. I look forward to the next one.
