Have you had any bad experience with getting stuff from Kirk at VS?
I ordered new seats that were to ship overnight to me as a cat fowled mine.
I received the seats a day later than they should have been delivered (maybe not Kirk's fault) but when I opened the undersized box, the seats were all scuffed and had multiple tears in them.
I took photos and sent them to him and called to let him know what happened. I expected Kirk to be a bit more appologetic about it.
I now have to send the seats back and wait for new ones.
Just wanting to know if this is "normal" or am I just lucky!

Gerry , I have been purchasing interiors and misc parts from Kirk at Vintage for years. Only recently did UPS manage to destroy some trim parts even though they were well packaged. VS took care of the replacements, post haste.
As for seats, they get shipped to me in a mover's wardrobe carton. I'll assume that after receiving the seats back, Kirk will have them recovered and shipped back to you asap. ~Alan
I've had both USPS and UPS damage shipments brfore. USPS once destruyed a set of cast iron cylinders , they looked as if they were used to hold up one of their vehicles while they changed a tire! UPS once delivered a box that ended up looking like shredded wheat. Keep the faith, Kirk always delivers as promised.
We ship many LARGE boxes with UPS and they usually do a good job. Sometimes it looks like they put a rope around them and used it to drag the box across the country. That is why we call them the Brown Clowns!

As for dealing with Kirk ... he and Mary are the most helpful folks you can ever run into. If you cannot get along with him you should take a deep breath and evaluate what your demands are. Have confidence that they will do you more than right!
True story:

I once had an empty box delivered to me with someone else's address written on it and a shipping label with my info on it just sort of dangling off of the end. But my package was no where to be found.

It appeared as though the two packages shared close proximity at some point in their journey and the empty, damaged box that came to me had both addresses and MY box was now floating out there with no shipping info on it at all.

UPS was no help and I just couldn't make the people involved visualize the mishap that might have lead to the erroneous empty box delivery. Two boxes colliding and the label coming loose from mine and adhering itself to the other.

As a final last ditch effort, I went to the US depot near the Cape Cod rotary and implored the "lady behind the counter" (the universally DREADED lady behind the counter; as featured at any Department of Motor Vehicles country wide.) to visualize two powdered donuts riding down a conveyor belt, they brush against each other on route. Now one has a lot of powder on it as it should, but the other ones has a small amount of powder on it's end. Similar to the empty box that was delivered to me had a small piece of shipping tag on it. I got the box or donut with the tag fragment while the other intended box or donut if you will is still out there undelivered.

She stared at me as though the dog just spoke and pretty much shouted, "You'd have to be a FOOL to send donuts through the UPS ! ! !

No lie, no joke, just the simple truth. And yet, wiser words were never spoken, and I live by them to this day.

Of course this begs the question, Wanna sell 'em?" I don't mind a little cat juice on my seats one little bit. I'd be interested in getting them from you if they aren't TOO much coin. Shoot me an email and we can work out the details . . . maybe?!?!?
I WOULD like to have them! I have a neat idea for a pair of bare shells that would work REALLY well in an Outlaw.

Figure the shipping to:

Kingston, MA
02364

And let me know, OK?

If you need to, feel free to cut them into smaller pieces, I can glass them back together no problem.

Thanks!
