I am in Thailand and it is basically impossible to register a kit car, or private import a complete car, unless done at time of immigration.

I am left with using a recycled Thai Beetle registration, and have been thinking of a Thunder Ranch Speedster due to the fact that they build the tube chassis around an existing VW rear section that carries the VIN.

I would prefer a Spyder but the VIN is the big problem. Does anyone make a space frame tube Spyder frame that recycles the Beetle VIN?

Pan based Spyder is my very last choice, and there are several tube frames to replace the old pan. Not as great as a space frame but I have to live with what I can register.
I note references to Perry and Glocker that use a Bug pan, but my Googling leads to the dreaded 404 message. Anyone know of a working link?

Don't know if this could help.

The new German Mohr / Classic Roadsters [ www.classicroadsters.co.uk ] are currently undergoing testing for UK Low Volume manufacturere self certification. This will mean that their Spyder would have a legitimate UK title - NOT a Kit Car. The engine couldthen be removed and the vehicle imported as a Rolling body / chassis. Would that comply as a kit?
