Anyone know about these cars?

Just got back from Barrett-Jackson. Park Place Ltd, an exotic car dealer out of Bellvue WA, had about six Speedster replicas for sale under the tent. Park Place calls them 356 Recreations. I checked them out pretty carefully and the build on all of them looked remarkably similar to my Vintage, including the coiled red wire from the alternator, the dashboard padding that does not extend all the way to the end of the dash, and the park brake handle.

The Park Place sales person refused to tell me who did the build, but he was insistent that that Park Place was not a Vintage reseller. He claimed two guys (he couldn't recall the name of their company) did the basic build and Park Place finished them off under an exclusive arrangement. Of course, this sounded just like Automotive Legends-like deal to me, one of this board's favorite Vintage resellers.

When the sales person concluded that I actually knew a little something about these cars as an owner, he wanted little to do with me.

Here's link to the Park Place website advertising their Speedster:

I'm not sure about the bent shifter. Mine is straight. But the door panels and pockets are dead ringers for Vintage, along with the heat vent covers, type of ignition, and numerous other little things. I'm fine if the salesperson did not know who did the build, but that's not the case here. He specifically denied that Vintage had anything to do with the cars. Even my wife picked up the similarities between our Speedster and Park Place's.
Justin---very observant---you are right too! The ivory and black ones (maybe others) are the exact same picture. Maybe they are a Vintage reseller with Kirk's blessing?

Like that wonderful other reseller, Automotive Legends, this new one sure marks 'em up too.

On the plus side maybe having a dealer like this new one will expose more folks to these wonderful cars. That's a good thing. The bad part is the upset caused when a buyer from a resseller realizes he could have saver thousands of dollars going directly to the manufacturer.

My own VS was resold to the original owner by Automotive Legends and I bought it with just 700 miles for over $6,000 less that he paid.
It, like many, many of these cars had about 10 issues that the original owner couldn't cope with so like a lot of these cars it got dumped almost brand new with almost no miles. Thanks to this great site---Larry Jowdy in particular, and a few others the issues were all fixed.

Let's just hope that this new reseller will develop something that AL did not and that's decent service. ---Jack
Assuming Park Place is a Vintage reseller (and this certainly appears to be the consensus here), then it put a nice premium on the cars. All of the ones under the tent at Barrett-Jackson were priced in the $30-33k range. I must say, however, that the cars certainly attracted a fair amount of attention when compared to the other cars. It seemed that everyone loved them (and rightfully so!).
