Cool project! I've been looking at the HF one for $55 (less 20% coupon). Guess I could use it to make sea glass too and recycle some wine bottles.
Wolfgang, this guy also does electroplating projects which are pretty cool. Hearing a motor run for 24 hours I would then have to put it into a sound box and there it goes another project for a project.
I like my rust remover soak I just posted it did a great job on my tools.
I live on FL coast and even in a garage chromed tools get rusty. Some left on boat have to be soaked in rust remover for couple days. Owners of the HF one say it does make a racket - have detached garage so wouldn't bother me. Just don't want it walking across the room and vibrating against a car for 2 days.
I have been soaking my tools in this and so far it does a pretty good job.. then I treat them with a spray protectant that feels like PAM to the touch.
Scary thought to have that thing vibrate walk the floor and rest up on a car
Ray, I have one. I used it with corn cob bits and metal polish to put a burnished finish on McCulloch kart engine carburetors. It works well but I haven’t found a way to stop it from crawling all over other than blocking it in with some heavy items. Also some of the internal parts rattled loose after a while. You get what you pay for.
