Pre-Historics

I see some of our Speedster friends will be attending the Pre-Historic Races* at Laguna Seca 8/8-9/09 - who's interested? -
.
I'll post info here - probably for a drive down meeting in San Jose or Morgan Hill at 10am or so on Saturday 8/8 -

Here's my posting from the 'other site' and from 'Speedsterowners.com'
* the week before the more famous and more crowded Historic Races at Laguna Seca - virtually no cost, no crowds - easy in/out, easy parking, and many of the cars that will race the following week are there for practice and racing - kind of a little known opportunity for vintage racing fans - Last few years we've had a few Spyders go down there together - should be able to do so this year also...

Hey Will - I'll post something on Spyderclub and Spyderowners to get a group or a few together for the PreHistorics - will shoot for Saturday August 8th....looking forward to seeing you there...

Sounds like you've got a great week planned - as you know the Pre-Historics is cheap and easy - but a bit 'mysterious' insofaras the details - nothing is posted online - but many of the racers come in a week early to practice, there's no charge for the event and you have pretty much open access with no crowds at the track or coming and going. Last year the Ferrari folks bought out the track so the range of historic cars was pushed to the early and late part of the day - I suspect that things will be 'back to normal' this year so all run groups should run each day...

I just looked up the 356CAR.org site and they've posted these* two items:

*August 7-9 - Monterey Pre-Historic Races at Mazda Raceway, Laguna Seca. $6 admission per car at the County Park Gate. Infield parking and races on Saturday and Sunday as the drivers practice for the official races. Note: the paddock will not be open this year. (BUMMER- rj) www.laguna-seca.com

a few Spyders are leaving from Evergreen/San Jose are Sunday morning August 9th ~ meeting @ 8:30 to drive to Laguna Seca for the PreHistorics where we should meet up with Barry, Karl D and a few Speedster friends
