Weather was supposed to be nice yesterday so drove took the IM "D" on the 65 mile commute to work (top hasn't been up since the car was delivered). Cool front went through in the afternoon with rain beginning to pitter-pat (let's hear it for meteorology) so I went out to the parking lot to do the top-up dance. This would have been a no-brainer except for the fact that the rubber seal on the top bow that seals to the windshield was coming loose. Aaaaaacccck! Fiddled, fumbled, and got everything in place and of course it stopped raining. But it kinda/sorta rained on the 65 mile drive home (what the Irish would call a "soft night") and traffic was kicking up spray.

At least there were no leaks and the defroster worked fine but man it's NOISY in there with the top and windows up. A guy in a silver Z3 kept ogling the IM like maybe he wanted to race but traffic was heavy and the pavement was wet so I didn't push it.

Anyway, I'll clean off the top and rubber, mask the top to keep things clean/neat, and put the rubber back on with gorilla snot (3M weather stripping adhesive) and hope that holds.

Might be a good idea to check your top seal once a year just to make sure its secure.

George, we gotta talk. I don't think it is safe for you to be taking the IM out until they catch that sniper Bas**rd. I can see the headlines now. Man shot, Speedster hauled away by bubba the tilt-bed tow truck maniac. Honestly, you think the guys not gonna notice you? When was the last time you pulled up anywhere and people didn't want to talk? Why not paint a big red target on your jacket?
